DragRect a texture without edge bleed?

Hi guys, new to the forum! Any help would be most appreciated. Haven’t used Zbrush in a while and forgot how to drag a texture over a model and not get edge bleed ( streak artifacts ) around corners . Thanks again!

Hi @dragoncrestpc

Please be sure to upgrade your program version. You are missing years of features and fixes. I may reference features that are not included in your obsolete version of the program. Upgrading is free for registered users, and out of date versions are not supported.

If you drag a texture over the visible edge of a mesh, you will get this. A mesh requires UVs for a texture to be applied and wrap cleanly around. If you wish to protect a side from receiving any color information, mask it before applying the stroke. Otherwise, you will have to use Spotlight to carefully touch up the “streaky” areas.

One of the new features in the current version of Zbrush is the ability to flatten a mesh with UVs via the morph UV function, paint or sculpt on it directly in this flattened mode, and have that sculpting and color maintained when the mesh is un-flattened. To do this in an obsolete program version, you would have to create a texture from the UVs, and work on the flattened texture in an image editor.
