Dragonball Sculpt [I. SSJ Goku] [II. Freeza]

I have the same needs and questions here as most people, HOW TO DO THE HAIR?? Could you post a tutorial or some steps on the hair? Its giving me and alot of others real problems dupilacting the z style hairdoo

Oustandingly AMAZING!!!

I’d like to ask you how you modeled the hair. was it a seperate subtool?

hi, for all those curious about the hair,
i’ll explain more :

1- in 3dsmax, create a box with no segments, merge all the vertices on the top, thus creating a pointed spike. Adjust the vertices (only 5 now) according to the character design, and if needed, add more segments at this stage to define the shape. Keep it as simple as possible.

2- in 3dsmax, apply the tessellate modifier, it will create a dense mesh while retaining the original spiky shape.

3- repeat for the rest of the spikes covering the head.

4- import every spike into Zbrush as subtool, sculpt in the details.

thats the basic idea, hope it helps.

I was going to ask you about this. I might use this technique for my blanka. Would you happen to have a screenshot of the mesh before it enters zbrush, since I’m not sure how dense your going with the base mesh.

i would love to see your blanka womball. Sagat would be another cool SF character.

I’m not a big Fan of the Dragon ball and dragon ball Z shows but this is insane. Very nice work. :grimacing:

Hello i hope so you do not get angry because of him if I put up those models what I did. Right not so good but I believed it I put them up .

The pictures they’re here:

man you bust out some amazing renders. Im always impressed when I see them. How high are the models you bring into max? I know max can handle a good amount of polys, but some of your pieces like the heman one seem so detailed I would think Max becomes almost unusable.

How was this stuff not in the TOP ROW???

I just found out about it because of your HE-Man sclupt which is equally amazing.
My only crit on Goku is his eyes are just a tad too big and wide, he’s looking kind of embryo there. Aside from that these look like they are real sculpts. Wonderful stuff, I wondered why no one ever did any decent DB or DBZ stuff. One of the best stories ever - this coming from a 38 year old. :stuck_out_tongue:

i’m pretty sure this one was top rowed before

Oh man! I love these sculpts

There so true to the cartoon, awesome work mate

hats offf, i couldnt have imagined a 3d model of goku to be so appealing, u have captured every detail, even mangaed to pull off the weird cartoony anatomy which is not entirely true to real human anatomy:+1:

Wow… it’s flawless. Bring back the good old drawing days of goku. Thank You for posting them! 5 stars :+1:

dis is gr8…
excellent work…buddy…:D:D

first i will congradulate you on how great these models look but i really want to ask you a question and if you answer then i will be very greatful. i was wondering how you get such a clean look to your models it there a way to make the cleaner and get cleaner lines?

Hi, Thanks for all the kind replies
Tyler Remikie: thank you, you could try drawing over specific regions with the pinch brush to bring focus and sharpness to the area,

cheers & best wishes

This is great!
Good work :+1:

Very nice!
But could you offer some help to me. I was trying to make my anime character into Zbrush and i’m having a very hard time. Mainly on hair.

Wow!! That is the best 3d Goku I have ever seen! The face is a little different, but still. It’s just amazing. Funimation needs to hire you to make characters for the DBZ games
