Dragon Slayer WIP

Hey everyone,

I started doodling and I came up with something that I want to do for my folio, the goal is to have some kind of game cinematic in the style of Blizzard, but with my own style sort of. I choose the Dragon Slayer simply because I like Dragons.

Here is the finished, un-retopologized sword of the slayer, rendered in ZBrush, 100% Zbrush.

Here is a Turntable render of the sword.

Here is the quick concept sketch of the Dragon Slayer.

Awesome job so far, really looking forward to the end result.

truubluu: Thanks  Wont be finished for a while :stuck_out_tongue:

Here is a concept sketch for a Wyvern, which in my opinion is a type of dragon :stuck_out_tongue: I have a base sculpt currently rendering a turn table, in the meantime, here is the concept sketch

I have started that Wyvern a few days ago, initially sculpted in ZBrush, but couldn’t figure out for the life of me how to create the wings membranes in ZBrush directly. So I decimated a copy and I brought it in Blender for retopo and adding the membranes as integral part of the mesh.
Now its back in Zbrush with UVs ready for detailing.
Rendered shots, no colors, no close ups, still a long way to go :stuck_out_tongue:

And here is a turn table video.

Very nice style. Excellent concept sketches and initial modeling. Keep up the great work.

oR_Creeper: thank you kindly

Here is an early start on the Slayer’s Head, added very quick eyeballs and hair.

Little update on the head, from last night, better hair, better eyes, etc…

Things I need to fix :
-I think the iris size is too big, make it a bit smaller
-Better Hair (Root and Tip Size way off)
-Better moustache, goatee ,brows, overall beard (Too bushy)
-Better Skin texture and better eye shapes.

Fibermesh is really great but not so easy to work with, but I think I am getting the hang of it :stuck_out_tongue:

Render straight out of ZBrush

Alright, I had time to get better skin texture and shader, better eyeballs, better eyes shape, and a better beard!!! P.S. I added some duvet hair and that adds so much
Tomorrow I’ll redo the hair if I have time.

100% BPR render, straight out of ZBrush, no comp. Only a render filter, glow, set to 50 % opacity with a radius of 5.

Hey all, anybody knows a good alpha or a good trick for skin pores?

Also, any good tips on how to do descent looking long hair in ZBrush?

No Critics? No Comments?

Allright, I did find time to redo the hair, much more pleased with the results, closer to my concept.
Well, I call this done for now, I will start working on the rest of the body, clothes, etc. No point on doing a naked body, he will be fully clothed. The face is the only skin that will show for this character :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope y’all like, it was a great ZLearning experience for me to try to achieve this kind a render directly in ZBrush as opposed to either Blender internal or Cycle. Not as easy as blender, but cool that its doable
