drag handles for deformations aswell as move/rotate/scale transpose tool

Hi ?Guys

am in love with zbrush except for one thing, the horrible move/rotate/scale ranspose, these work well except when you desire to move a subtool around the screen, i had hoped that i would work this out by now but ... does anyone else have a problem with the three most basic operations a 3d package provides? Is their a plugin that would provide the normal 3dsmax (or any other package) style move/rotate/scale gizmo's (drag handles)? they are much more exact and the object always moves as intended. i miss these soooooo much, generally i can move the objects to where i would like, however even the move tool can produce some highly annoying mesh distorting effects (when dragging the middle circle); rotate is especially good for not rotating the object as desired and distorting the mesh to boot, i dig the way zb4 thinks outside of the box, but in this case i think they have been trying too hard. anyone agree, or not, or i am using the tool in an inept fashion and no one else has a problem with this once they have got used to the transpose tool, your thoughts? (flame away)

after more googling i have found one work around for when the transpose tool is messing up ur work

this helps alot, though still would like a plugin to get the normal move/rotate/scale gizmo’s from max, maybe just a dream ;0)

No flaming, my 2 cents.
I love the way zbrush handles object manipulation in regards to the action line. Simple, clean, effective. It is different, yes, but in a good way. If I wanted to work and feel like I’m in a traditional 3d package I would use that. But in a creative fashion I find Zbrush’s action line to provide faster feedback and manipulation of SRT’s than your standard gizmos.

again, my 2cents.

I think with ZB you do yourself much more service by recognizing and accepting that it’s a different beast. Trying to get it to behave like the animal you might be used to is an exercise in futility, generally.
Heavy use of the tools will make these tools quite useful. So useful, you’ll start wishing that other animal had tools like this.

It just takes getting used to.

agreed the action line is very useful for bending limbs and utterly brilliant (except when it hurtz my mindz) out of the box new thinking for move/rotate/scale but as stated previously their are instances were these tools are major overkill or produce un expected results.

I am NOT asking for draghandles instead of, more as well as, since in priciple these are just onscreen drag handles for the sliders on the deformation toolbar.

only a dream thou ;-

PS

also true, am fairly well versed now (ish), got my 2nd ZBmodel animated in houdini but still occasionally run into issues with transpose, especially with re positioning sub tools Deformations are the opposite and exact but without the onscreen drag handles become clunky, hence why pretty much ALL other packages include these ;0)
