Dotted lines on wireframe?

I just downloaded a base mesh from pixologic and when I load it up it has 2 sets of dotted lines around the actual wireframe! I have never delt with this before and couldn’t find anything pertaining to it on the forum. Can someone help my turn this on and off? and explain it’s purpose. thanks!

Any Takers? hahaa

I think this is what happens with Z2 models loaded into Z3…

Well is there a fix or something? how do you correct it?

I guess i could always import the obj version and see if it works correctly that way!

I had this happen with a project entirly done in Zbrush 3.1, never had 2.0. The extra dotted lines were kind of random on model, but not the entire thing. I forget what part it was and what I did that might have led up to it. They remind me of the extra line when you crease an open edge.

Ok that actually fixed the problem! Luckily pixologic offers the obj version as well as the ztl file!

I wonder if ther is a setting in zbrush that can fix it.

heres the fix: goto geometry and SHIFT click UNCREASE
for some reason z3 adds creases to all the polys, annoying but its easily fixed

thanks for that tip, spaceboy412…is that an old Z2 trick with
the Shift-click?..seems pretty arbitrary and not documented…

yeah thats been around since z2, if you ctrl hover its in the description

guess I better pay more attention

thanks again.

Huh, I didn’t notice the description on crease and uncrease the use of shift-click. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks Spaceboy! you’re the bomb!
