ive always started my models in zbrush at least 80 percent complete… meaning i’ve already done my edgeloops, unwrapped, massed in the major parts etc… recently i’ve tried to start my model completely in zbrush. after doing so i retopologized to get a lower res mesh… but im confused as to what to do now. how do i get the high res details onto the low res mesh? i feel like such a noob right now… :o
Read a good book, volunteer to work in hospitals, senior citizen homes.

Do not despair, life can be meaningfull.
Read up on displacement maps. And normal and bump maps and on how to generate them in ZBrush. The work flow will become transparent. Or follow Bicc39’s advise!

IF you follow the process for retopologising, and once you have your new topology showing over your full ress mesh. Then make sure projectioin is turned on, and your addaptive skin level is turned up (try different levels to see what you need), when you create an adaptive skin from your new topology, it will give you a new, multi level tool, with your details on it.
@bicc39: insightful…:rolleyes: lol
@lemonnado: i know how to generate a normal map but its a separate mesh im dealing with that doesnt have all the high res detail in it. i was asking how to get that detail in there. thanks for the reply
@Gordon Robb: makes sense! thanks for your help i will try this.
