still have to tweak the arm pit area shape. Any comments on overall pose proportions etc. This is far from final, but is approaching final rendere time. I’m still not sure about the pose and background. Also quality is set on draft for these renders. Any crits welcome. Thanks.
looking good man now only thing left is the shoes theylook very flat and long
dont you thik so
yeh man i’ve been watching this one for a while. i think its looking great but i have to agree that the shoes are looking a bit flat. i’m sure its just because of the angle but if not you should fix it. all in all its looking awesomesmall_orange_diamond

DiscoStu and LeoAMD: thanks for the crit. I’ll definitely take another look at the shoes. Check back for the final render definitely by the end of this month.

Wow that’s neat. I love the character, there’s a lot of personality and attitude coming out of it.

The Dog looks fantastic. Your render and pose are also awesome. I’m digging those boots too. I’m glad you stuck with this creation.
And the feathers streaming down from the sides of his head are way cool too.
Have you let the Dog know of your tribute to him?
thanks for the comments!
EricArtman: no I haven’t emailed this to Dog yet, but I would be very interested to hear what he thought of it.
Good likeness. Nice sculpting, too. Looks like you put some work into this. Are you a big Dog fan?
May I ask you a question?
How do you make the tips of the hair appear translucent with only diffuse and specular map?
Love it. You do beautiful work. Great job.
Zenneth: Sorry, I forgot to mention the hair color map is a targa with a alpha channel included in it. The alpha channel acts as the transparency map and tell s the hair where to be transparent. The feathers also have an alpha transparency map.
Long time since I followed this, But I think you did an excellent job on him. Great modeling and pose. One tiny crit if I may, I think you over did the wrinkles on his neck when compared to the pic you had on page 4.
thanks DigitalDreamer. You may be right about the neck, but I guess I wanted to exaggerate a little.
