Does anyone want to educate my n00b question?

I can understand if you don’t. For I am a noob. Im trying to make a family crest shaped like this http://static.tumblr.com/izrhonm/7bulh5oi4/iheartvector-shield-pack.png
But im not sure how to start. I mean im used to working with zpsheres to make models of people but i never made a 3d logo before. Im not sure what workflow i to proceed with. Any ideas?
the end result would be something like this http://files.myopera.com/zero1973/blog/bmw_logo_b_zbrush.jpg

Model the shield in some other 3D program and then import it to Zbrush.

I’m not sure what kind of details you want in the shield, but now in ZB you can choose to sculpt them directly onto the shield or you could add details using SubTools. Just create a new Ztool, shape it and add your details and then ‘Append’ it to the Shield as a SubTool (from the Tool->SubTool menu).

When the new subtool is added to the ‘shield’ you’ll need to scale and position it the way you want (using the Transpose tools). From here you can continue to sculpt details to the shield and its subtools. You can add as many SubTools to the shield as you like.

Hope it helps!

thats the lessons i was talking about , have a look

i tried to do it , and easiest way i found, is to do it in shadow box , get the basic shape that you want , after that you can use clip brushes , to sharpen the edges , and than you can use technique in tutorial below to get some nice sharp bevels
