Does anybody know how to setup Wacom Tablet with Zbrush 2.0??

Hello guys,

I have a wacom tablet 9x12 i recently purchased it like a month or 2 ago and only been using it for photoshop and painter stuff. But i read somewhere that people use it for zbrush also.

Can anyone tell me how to set it up, or point me to a tutorial. It would be a great help and i think it would also be much faster working with zbrush.

Thanks ahead and i hope to see some of you write some suggestions…

thanks…

I intend to buy one as well… using ZBrush with mouse is such a drag!

I wouldn’t only like to know HOW to connect a tablet but also which tablet do you think worth of buying…

I think more like amateur usage - average price range…

Thanks,

What kind of wacom do you use? The intuos 3 series inbuild buttons are just right by default (Alt/Ctrl/Shift/Spacebar),
setting up? just plug in and play!

I plugged in my cheapo Aiptec and it worked right away…

Have you just tried the Wacom from within ZBrush? If it’s already setup for Photoshop, you don’t need to do anything else.

While there are Tablet parameters that can be changed in the Preferences menu, the default settings work fine for me. The “Use Tablet” button is supposed to enable or disable the tablet. I find that it simply disables the tip’s pressure-sensitivity making the stylus work like the left mouse button - on or off. 99% of the time you’ll want that “Use Tablet” enabled, but there are a few special situations where you might want pressure-sensitivity turned off, so just remember the option is there.

Other than just trying it out, I’d suggest a search here on “Wacom Tablet” for more information or discussions of problems others have had with Wacom and Zbrush.

Thank you for replying. Yes i have the Intous 3 9x12 wacom tablet. I guess ill just try the default settings and see what i can do. Mouse does suck to use and that is why i wanted to see if anyone here use the wacom.

Nightwolf… MOST things here are done with a tablet due to the pressure sensitive pen capabilities which an analog mouse button can’t simulate.

You either draw with the same size and density or don’t draw with a mouse and with a pen you can change the variables to your likes!

That’s why I got tired of the mouse which was ok at the beginning when I learned to use ZBrush but now it frustrates me.

I have checked the offers for tablets and chosen:

I will go for Volito2 instead of Graphire3 'coz I can’t afford Intuos. The only difference I’ve noticed between Graphire and Volito is the additional device - mouse.

I don’t want to pay extra for the mouse unless it is really precise and is way better than standard mice when it comes to ZBrush drawing.

If not I will go for tablet and pen only - Volito2.

Hey, Brango

Thanks for the comment on this page and actually i did not know that almost everything here is made with a tablet.

Now to tell you about the tablet. Well, the mouse that came with my tablet i do not use at all. I have no use for it because every time you want to use the mouse, you have to use it on top of the tablet. I dont want use the tablet for that. They can actually scratch the surface of your tablet i think if you use it for a long time. So for regular pc and browsing i use my usb logitech optical mouse. It works for me. Also i use that for 3D work for other programs like Maya etc…

Thanks for letting me know…i appreciate it
