Does a zbrush license grant me all following versions of zbrush?

Hey guys, I came here just to ask this question.

If i get hold of a zbrush license for windows, does that entitle me to all the upcoming versions of zbrush?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but i just can’t get a reliable source of information on it.

I know that this is not usually the case with licenses, and you buy each version at a discount, but I’ve been told otherwise by two zbrush owners. They said they bought it back in zbrush 3/4 and now have the latest version without spending any more money.

Doesn’t this mean that if i bought a second hand license it would be just as good as buying it first hand from a store?

Although all upgrades from the first version of ZBrush have been free to registered users, Pixologic has made no announcement as to whether future upgrades will be free. You should base your buying decision on what benefits you would get from the software as it is now, not what it might be in the future.

If you buy a secondhand version of ZBrush make sure the license is transferred to you properly through Pixologic. That will ensure that you are entitled to whatever upgrade terms Pixologic decide in the future.

Like Marcus said. I think at this time it makes sense to buy ZBrush without expectations of a free upgrade t 5.0. That way if the upgrade turns out to be free after all, it will be a nice bonus.

Thanks guys  I now have a copy of zbrush which i got thanks to someone on the forums!

He got it at 1.2 and he’s sold it to me and it’s on 4r7 so happy days. $550 USD  good times.
