Does 32 bits displacement map export is disabled in the free 30 trial?

Hi,
I downloaded the Zbrush 3.1 free 30days trial yesterday, and I have a problem.
My question is. Does 32 bits displacement map export is disabled in the free 30 trial?

I am asking because when I export the displacement map using Multi Displacement Exporter 3 plugin include in the ZBrush trial, the 32bits generated tiffs are all filled in black. All the software I have with me can’t open them. I tryed with Glasgow(cinepaint), Xnview, The Gimp and Blender. All are at the latest versions. The Gimp says the file has many errors, blender says the file isn’t openable. And glasgow opens it with a black picture, same as Xnview.

I did a polymesh, unwraped it, exported it in obj, the file is ok in blender, in silo and in Zbrush. In Zbrush, I divided it to sculptable level, sculpted it, then I made the displacement map (with the mode button on), then in the alpha panel, I selected my sculpted alpha, opened Multi Displacement plugin, and finally exported a 32 bits float tif picture, I did with all possible combinaisons of settings. The generated picture is what I said earlier.(a full black picture in some programms, or an invalid file for the others)

So, I tryed 16bits displacement map export, with Zbrush internal exporter it works great in blender except there are the banding effect on the displaced mesh this is due to the 16bits depth of the picture. And I exported 16bits depth displacement map with the Multi Displacement Exporter 3 plugin and they are all ok, except the banding effects on the displaced mesh due to the 16bits depth. I tryed also the normal map export and it works good.
16bits displacement map export works good, the normal map export works good and even the 8dot8 is exporting good.

I also tryed exporting 32bits float Tiff displacement map with 1024x1024 resolution, and 2048x2048 resolution. I also tryed with the displacement options in Zbrush like adaptive, subpix, smoothuv.

Only the 32bits depth displacement map options aren’t working, is it a limitation of the trial version or what is it I don’t know.

Thank you for answering me.

Nidor.

The trial is full-featured. No limitations.

Could you describe your steps and your settings? This might help us spot the problem.

Hi,
I am sorry now I have a new problem, I reinstalled the trial to see if it wasn’t an installation issue, and Zbrush trial doesn’t want to start.
I got this message :

Zactivator (window) :
(?) A problem was detected with your license file. Would you like to recover now?

Zbrush asks me to phone oversea to tell an authorization request code to continue the activation :frowning: I am sorry it is a trial with 29days grace left :frowning:

What do you suggest me?

Nidor.

Hi,

I tryed Zbrush trial on another computer, installed Photoshop CS4 trial, and Photoshop can open the Zbrush displacement map in tiff 32bits.

The Gimp says it can’t open 32 bits depth Tiff, and it looks like Blender can’t too, so that why Blender says invalid file when I try to open it to displace my model.

please pardon me, it isn’t a Zbrush problem.
