Do you remember Tol the hand ?

…After the speed modeling session, Tol finally got her manicure and unpredictably it gave me inspiration to carry on with my model. Then I lost myself in Zbrush (discovering what is the passion for 3D), spent hours to add as many details as my ageing computer could support, over and over with the help of the Projection Master. Here is the visible result :

.....I didn't record a script, but you can get the tool (just below). It won't teach you a lot of things ; however you will see in 3D what is possible to do with Zbrush when one has got time to loose :p, and surely feel the same pleasure as I feel while rotating this pack of polygons and dreaming of the day when games and CG films cross this level of detail (there will be a Himalaya of work for CG artists that day :+1:).

.....[20 Mo. Including the Zdoc that you may open to have the good material for the nails and my lights settings. Note : The tool is initially at its lower subdivision level ; I don't know why, but the file is three times lighter when saved while at low levels. 2nd note : The alpha I spoke of sooner will be loaded with the tool.]

          ..... Yeepee ! ;)

The easiest way to avoid overlapping UV’s or other such problems is to create AUVTiles or GUVTiles mapping. You do this by creating a texture of the size that you wish to work with (powers of 2 work best, such as 512x512, 1024x1024, 2048x2048, etc.) and then press Tool>Texture>AUVTiles or GUVTiles.

This must be done before you start texturing, however. The mapping cannot be changed once texturing has begun unless you’re willing to begin your texturing again.

Ps Ah! ils sont forts dans le midi, c’est sûrement le mistral

Holy Mamma!!! those renders are so realistic for be zbrush, I’m impressed.
Is The texture a photo of your hand?

Great work of a hand!

Thanks a lot for giving your impressions. These are excellent motivations to go on with another piece of modelisation.

Thank you Aurick for the support. I'm on to finish my texture unwrapped.

Brush Ice, the texture is painted (it took me one day) ; with a real model on sight it is (merely) as simple as these games for children “spot the differences between these two pictures”, it is just about time and visual intuition.

Pilou, who is the author of your sculpture ? It is beautiful, much more expressive (artistic) as my own.

PS : Eh oui, heu, mistral gagnant ! (Mais je suis trop jeune pour avoir goûté de ces choses-là, too bad )
