I came across this video:

They are showing a demo for a different software that can easily erase a detail on the surface and keep the surface flowing well.
Do we have anything like that in Zbrush?

Try to use morph target (and morph brush) and layers too…those give you total control
Thanks for the response. I’ve played around with those features, but they require that the user plans ahead. I was hoping their might be something like this after it is already to late to use those.
It looks like adobe’s content aware repair. Although, I take it you know that this feature you are seeing hasn’t required the user to plan ahead?
Planning ahead is good, but there’s always room for backup plans and on the fly ingenuity.
Looking at that fish, for example. If I were sent it as an obj file, it would be too late for me to save a morph target before it had those details added. But what I could do instead is:
Then any current or future details should be able to be painted out with the morph brush
Geomagic has had this for years and it’s where this feature comes from. Freeform was purchased by Geomagic and Geomagic was purchased by 3D Systems.
It’s basically a delete and fill holes type process. When Geomagic fills in holes then it takes the surrounding geometry into the equation and fills it with similar areas. So a flat surface will fill in flat and a curved surface will fill in curved.
It’s a nice feature and one I used all the time (in Geomagic). I rarely use it all now that Zbrush has things like dynamesh. You can get a similar results from various brushes, smooth, polish, etc. and using lower divisions. I wouldn’t mind seeing a similar function in Zbrush though because I think it is useful, just not enough to switch out of Zbrush for it.
