Thanks Peter! I generate a sphere in 3ds max, I wouldn’t recommend using the one from Zbrush because it has a hole actually on the pole points (not sure why though), and if I try to close it by close holes function the uv’s are all jagged. So I generate a sphere in 3dsmax, import to Zbrush paint a texture on it by hand to serve as a placeholder for the time being, then i select only the faces of the iris area and extrude them a bit out (not by extruding just pulling out), after that I export the uv’s and usually in Photoshop add a photo of real iris above the placeholder. Once in keyshot I use one of the plastic materials, I think it’s the dark waulgn or something like that I’ve renamed it so can’t remember the exact name. I tend to use that one at it’s default settings, apart tweaking the blend colour.
Here’s the image of that eye.
awesome Joker! It´s like Jack Nicholson just posed for a photo!
Would you please share your fibermesh settings?
Thank you so much Ernesto! I’m sorry but I don’t have the settings for it anymore, and I usually generate a new fibermesh for each model since every model is of different scale and one fibermesh just wouldn’t cut it. For this one I only remember I used 10 segments, and other settings just played by the ear till I got something I liked. Then I groom with only the groom short with collision settings turned down to 6 (under brush -> fibermesh), in this was I have pretty close to the head combing. Sorry I wasn’t of more help.
Sweet Joker!!! you’re work gets better every time, keep going! Cheers…
Mutte, thanks!
