Great job on the sculpt…:+1:  would be a nice exercise and piece to study fire and the motion it creates…alot of colors in the flames surrounding it and coming from within it, would also really enhance the piece and bring it to life…A nice light touch of the glow brush on those eyes and teeth would make them the center of attention… Just a couple of thoughts that entered my mind when I saw it…Thought them worth mentioning…just in case they might be useful to you…

Solid sculpting on the Balrog :+1: ! Love the stereogram, looks a lot like this wip… http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=100567 :+1:

Thank you SpiritDreamer! You just opened my eyes, the glow brush is amazing! I never use 2.5 portion of Zbrush (well you know what I mean hehe). I just can’t seem to find a way to import this composited image back in Zbrush again at that scale to play with the 2.5 brushes :frowning: It took me 15 minutes to render one pass (this is only half the size), and Zbrush bailed on me once doing it so I don’t intend to do it over hehe.

Thank you so much Etcher, yes it’s the same model I used it for stereogram.

Bye guys

looking good cherub !!! Love the design, details and polypaint is looking awesome too !!!

Thanks friend!

Can’t believe that you have never tried out the 2.5 D brushes until now…Powerful tools, and alot of fun to use…
Be careful of the glow brush, a little bit of it goes along ways…tends to burn out the underlying colors,…but then again, you can always go back into those areas and put some transparent tints of color where the original colors where… I wonder what some transparent blue color at the base of the flames would look like…I was just lighting a cigarette with my old zippo lighter in the dark while looking at your piece, and noticed alot more blue color in the flame of my lighter than the orange golden color at the tip of the flame…funny how when you really look at the flame closely, the more colors you see…A flickering Dance of Magic…

I am aware of that hehe, I wanted to make a piece that has all the primary colors in it (blue/red/yellow), and not overdo with it to overshine the central (black) “theme”. Red was used as a cavity colour and the right rim light, as well as the top rim light, blue as a softer left rim. I thought that the flames would become the centerpoint if they had blue so I didn’t want that.

But yes, I was impressed with snake 2.5 brush as well as the glow. If you know a way to import this high res composited image in Zbrush for 2.5d brushes touchups, please let me know

I don’t know Cherub…I always just save a version of the 3D image as a document…saved that way, that version is no longer 3d , but becomes a 2d image that can be painted on ect. using the 2.5D brushes…You can always bring the original 3D tool version back into the 2d scene and superimpose it over the documented 2d version…Put your documented version on the screen…Select your 3D tool,…drag it onto your 2d document,…then just go out of edit, and press the move setting at the top of your screen, and then drag on the outside of the 3d tool…this will bring your 3d tool in and out of depth on the screen and your documented version…Meats Meier…Introduction to ZBRUSH 3 in the illustration section of that DVD, he shows and demonstrates what I just said, and explaines it alot clearer than I did LOL. …A great DVD, has alot of stuff in it about doing what you are doing and going for with this latest creation that your working on…Playing between 3D and 2D and combining the two in ZBRUSH.

Don’t know if what I just wrote will be of use to you…you guys know a whole lot more than me about all of this stuff…
Just trying to be of help as best as I can…

I don’t thank that would make too much sense, since once your image is a psd and not a Zbrush document anymore, it’s pixels instead of ‘pixols’, meaning it looses all the 2.5d information, which can’t be reconverted.
at least from my understanding.

Cherub…If you take a look at my sketchbook,…page #60…post #889,…and then page 61…post 905…you will see what I was talking about.

I superimposed the lighter version of the flying dragon on page 61 over the darker version of that same dragon on page 60…all of the shadow, color, texture and light information remained in the lighter version after being superimposed over the darker version. …this was all done within ZBRUSH though, so not sure if it will be of help to you.

Thanks guys! I managed to get the full size image back into Zbrush, by firstly doubling the document size twice. Yes it looses the 2.5d information, but I can still get some cool transitions with 2.5 brushes, especially with snake hook 2.5 brush. Awesome transitions with some gosting effects between new fire wips and the horns, but just at testing stage so I’m not showing

I’ve modeled Shemsa for a friend’s site/fashion doll editorial. I’ve previsualized her idea directly in Zbrush, model/render. The background and compositing isn’t my work.

All pictures at her site here http://ivanajuric.blogspot.com/2011/01/new-outfit-for-shemsa.html

An impressive material here!!!
:+1:

Thanks Michalis! The plastic of the doll? It’s very simple really. Here’s the settings. It doesn’t read shadow good, so I’ve doubled the shadow layer in photoshop.

Thanks dmitrij, it was just a high ambient after all. Yeah, it doesn’t handle shadows well, I know. But it came beautifully.

All Zbrush.
