Awww, thank you so much guys! From the bottom of my heart.

Another one. Zsphere and dynameshed. These are really quick ideas not spending too much time on them 4 hrs total for this one start to render, as I know most will never see a 3d printer.

Hey! With great happiness I’m showing you an updated version of a bit older sculpt, that was included in the new 3d total’s book “Anatomy for 3D artists”, which you can now find here: https://shop.3dtotal.com/anatomy-for-3d-artists.html
It was a very humbling and surprising invitation to be featured among so many talented artists. Hope you enjoy.

Thank you so much for your support guys! I’m happy that the work inspires <3

Hi ZBC! Here’s my latest speed sculpt I did today, a caricature of my favorite video game designer, Tim Schafer.
Was really fun to create a caricature of him, as there aren’t that many around I had to figure out my own version
Dynamesh sphere, a couple of primitives, extracts for the ears and hair, and fibermesh for the facial hairs. Bpr renders, and cutout filter to give it a time period context.

Thank you for looking!

Tim Schafer caricature updated and wrapped up with Bpr renders and some photoshop again to put Tim in the world of point and click classic video games with poor resolution. Dynamesh sphere, extracts and zsphere retopology with a bit of help of Zmodeler.

Enjoy

Seeing one of my most disliked game devs with a sock puppet kinda makes it worth seeing his mug again ;D
Good work i got who he is supposed to be right away,

Haha, he is my favorite guy, interesting to hear different takes on the man though

Here’s a new render, Keyshot this time, for some reason I wasn’t happy with Zbrush renders. I’m a bit happier now

Yeah, i like his games, loved psychonautus, but i dont like the man behind them ;f Be it his shady business practices, his mismanagement of his kickater projects or his weird social activism and statements.
Especially this year he made some really insulting comments about gamers and gaming community, which considering he is a game developer is a bit ironic and sad;/ Or maybe its the company he keeps, Mcintosh and his scammer buddies, that we can thank for his new image, but what ever.
Yeah the new render does look better.

Were you a backer of Broken age? I think Tim’s only regret for that was that he didn’t let everyone in, and not only backers, to see the documentary as it was shot and published in sync - it was all explained there: they asked for less money than they got, because the original idea was to create a game that would be sort of a tutorial on how to make a game. Since they got 3.3 mil they decided they should do a much bigger game, a piece of art (which in my opinion delivered, as it is my favorite point and click, and I’m a true fan of the genre) but to do so they humbly explained to backers to ship the first part with 3.3 mil, and make the second part with the sales. I am happy with that, because if I had to choose between on one hand a documentary of how video games are made and where the video game itself wasn’t in the focus and not that important, or on the other hand Broken Age - I am far happier with Broken Age, and would join in on the ride all over again. Sure the game wasn’t well planned and took a lot money, because it waited on Tim’s inspirational moments, but that sets it apart from all the superficial games of modern age which are deadlines and sales limited (imo). So again, as an artist that doesn’t like deadlines nor art that has at it’s core a goal to earn or save money, I am all for Double fine and Tim here as well.

He purposefully insulted only those people who had it coming - people who falsely used the certain hash tag - and not all those other people who also got offended, he explained it and it’s online, so I won’t repeat it myself. IMO he is a very insightful person, concerned with philosophy and matters of psyche in making his games (for example his lecture on CG Jung), and I back him all the way (pun intended)

Cheers.

So, I saw Star Wars, so if you are reading this and haven’t seen it yet, beware of SPOILERS

I warn you, there will be spoilers, as this work is a commentary of the new film, and I will explain the work and it will hence contain spoilers.

Last warning.

Ok, you’ve either seen the movie, or can’t wait to see what this is all about if you’re still with me, So, I have seen the movie, and loved it! Absolutely gorgeous, a friend asked me how would I rate it from 1 to 10, and I said 10! But I also said one. The movie is spectacular, but sadly it’s a repeat of the first trilogy, the characters are not inventive at all, nothing new happens, where there was Luke now is Rey, the same struggles Hyden goes over in 2nd and 3rd movie are now struggles of Kylo Ren, another son beats his father, another deathstar gets destroyed (not called deathstar in this one mind you). In case of Maz Kanata it’s the worse; she is a character that is very Yoda reminiscent, can read character, obviously has special gifts, and right when we think it’s so darn close to being a Yoda character for the new movies, she goes to convince us for no reason whatsoever that she doesn’t us the force, when noone asks her, as if she defends herself from being obviously Yoda, and digs an even deeper hole.

So I saw the movie yesterday, and created this from scratch today - dynamesh, zsphere retopos, custom imm brush for the necklace, brp renders, the whole deal - as a comment to the movie. It is supposed to depict a Yoda who painted himself in yellow changed clothes (Maz Kanata’s clothes from the movie) and figures he’ll go unnoticed.

Hope you can appreciate it.

Nice Star Wars sculpts mate!

Hey Cherub,
as always I really love your work. Anyway last caricatures are a bit too less exaggerated for a caricature, aren’t they? Kylo Ren offers enormous caricature potential - this nose…

I watched Star Wars recently and I am almost with you except that a poor, emotionless and often very illogical story can still make 10 of 10.
Good visual effects, sure, but creativity just in recreation existing.
Is that already enough nowadays?
So I really dig your Yoda!
Really tells my feelings about “Star Wars - the disappointment awakens”
J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan deserving a Golden Raspberry for worst story telling in a 200 Million dollar production ever imho…Although I personally really enjoyed Maz Kanata as maybe the only real entertaining “new” character until she disappears without ever being mentioned again.
That is not Star Wars (George Lucas) neither Disney story telling which both enlighten my life with the so many fantastic moments.
I rather enjoy more to visit your thread and go through all this fantastic creativity in here than watching this movie again.
