Dividing a simple PolyCylinder

I found something odd in 4r7, when I create a Cylinder 3D primitive, convert it to polymesh 3d and divide it 4 times and then deleting the lower divisions I get strange jagged lines which are caused by bad loops in the cylinders geometry, here’s a comparisson between 4r6 which is fine and 4r7:

Any idea whats causing this ?

No one ?

Can you not model or paint on it now?

Not sure why it was changed in 4R7. The difference is 4R6 isn’t worrying about the triangles. 4R7 is forcing those triangles to become quads. That’s where the smoothing issues are coming from. Just create some loops to maintain your intended shape and it should work for you.

There might even be some setting somewhere that was added or changed in 4R7.
