Display Issues at low res subdivision level.

Hi there,

After searching the forums these seem to be the nearest to the problem that I have:

But not quite the same, and also the solution didn't work for me.

At a very low resolution especially when using the move brush on the points near the profile of my mesh I get a ghosting effect. This display issue only dissapears if the tool is repositioned/rotated. (see attached image)

  I am running:

  ZB3.1 (clean)
Windows XP, proffessional, service pack 2
  Dual-Core AMD opteron(tm) processor 2216 HE
  3gb ram
  NVidia Quadro FX 1700

The suggestion was to turn off "Quick and dirty edit" in the prefs\performance palette although this had no effect.

I am wondering if anyone has encountered this since, or a solution has been found?

  Thank you for your time.

  Best,

  James

edit: Incidentally, When i manipulate a point in the centre of my mesh, I get a stange square drawn aroubd the point. As mentioned in

My pioxls however, don’t go invisible. See attached pic 03.

At low subdivision levels I rarely encounter the first problem you describe. I’m not sure what the exact reasons are for it, but it is something that is being looked at by the development team.

For your second one, are you using a tablet? If so, try updating the drivers for it.

Thank you for the quick reply Aurick,

I am using an Intuos 3. I have downloaded the latest drivers and installed them, but no joy.

On closer inspection I believe both issues to be the same.

There seems to be a “square area” drawn around the point I am moving as mentionend before and when the point moves outside the square that is when the ghosting effect occurs.

(See attached)

Depending on which point I move this “square area” is posibly in different orientations?

I know this is not a major bug, but for me it is repeatable every time. when speaking to students would it be fair to say if they have this issue, it is a bug, but “it is something that is being looked at by the development team”?

best,

James
