Displacementmap Problems Zbrush

Hi
I have problems to generate a displacement map with the following settings:

Adaptive: OFF
DPSubPix: 4
SmoothUV: OFF
Mid: 0 (set by selecting an alpha and back…)
Flip V: ON
Scale: 1
3 channels: OFF
32 bit: ON

The Head is on the lowest subdivision level and has propper UVs (done in MAX)

I dont know why, but after generating the map, each face/poly looks like it has its own ramp/range. See image
You can clearly see the different polys. :frowning: What did I wrong? Cant get hold of this probleme.
Thanks a lot for any help.

Zbrush 4R6 P2? Are you using GoZ?

Yep. Z 4r6 P2 and no GOZ.
Exported everything as an obj. But why would that matter for the creation of the displace map?
The Problem starts in Zbrush by creating the map.
Thanks
Hilmar

All I got…http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/zbrush-plugins/uv-master/

Try polypainting and then applying that to your UV texture and see if it looks similar. Make a backup first.

Just glancing at it looks like it’s probably a UV issue. Are you using multiple UVs? I’ve heard that Zbrush doesn’t like those.

no idea if this helps but it might.

You need to weld your UVs before exporting as an OBJ from Max. Use GoZ instead, it does it for you.

Hi MArcus
it seems to be the exact same problem. Thanks a lot!
Don`t have axes to MAX this weekend, but I will test tomorrow in the office and let you know.

Thanks in advance.
