I’m in the process of creating the displacement maps for my low res model. At this point I created all the UVs in Maya. Example: I have the head, arm and leg as different subtools but I laid the UVs in the same space so that I can use one texture and one material for all.
Now I have the problem. I’m creating the displacement, with the Multimap plugin and the merge function on, but for each piece I get a different
intensity level of the map, so that in Maya I have to change the Alpha.gain and Alpha.offset for each head, arm and leg to get the right details.
I tried with the 16bit scale button on but with no improvement, an d I always use Get Scale before creating the map.
How do you do your displacement ? Do you merge all the tools before ? Cause keeping the subtools is easier if I want to get back and change something …
