displacement maps in Maya

Hey all,

I’m still fairly new to zbrush and have a question about displacement maps from zbrush in Maya. I’m using maya 2010 along with zbrush 3.5r3 and am having trouble using the displacement maps generated from zbrush. I have used mudbox in the past and it seems to generate really nice displacement maps that render out in maya great. I generally would set my render quality to Production Fine Trace, set my displacement Approximation to “Spatial” with a min/max of 0/5 and the length to .100. This is generally all I would need to do in order to get my model looking the exact same in maya as it does in mudbox. However, using the same settings for the zbrush displacement map, the results are terrible.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me some good tutorials on this issue?
