Displacement-map (with HD-Details), in to a clone of the same mesh ? how?

Hi People

I have a problem! :confused:, i have been working on a Mesh quite a while and needed such level of Detail, that I add HD-Geometry. All was fine, I finished my Model, but doesn’t needed de Lowest subdivision ( 6 Sublevels + 2HD-Geo)… :smiley:

As far as I understand, a Displacement-Map will only bee placed over the Low-poly version of the same Mesh. And here, “The Problem”…once in HD-Subdivision mode, you can´t delete lower sub-levels of the same Mesh. And the lowest subdiv of my Mesh, is very chunky (Later on, I want to create a Scene around it, in Maya).

So the only way i figured out, to rescue de HD-Details to put them in appropriate low-poly-mesh (of the same mesh, of course) Is to Clone de Mesh with the “Subtool Master Plugin”, this way the mesh looses its HD-Geometry but preserves the others Sub- and High-geometry levels.

Now i can delete the lowest Mesh level, but I have no IDEA how to put, to the clone mesh, the Displacement-map of the original Mesh… so that de HD-Details will bee preserved.

Any Idea, suggestions … please help :rolleyes:!!!
