Hello-
I made a very simple base mesh in 3ds Max 8 then exported it to ZBrush. Now that I’ve detailed it in ZBrush and am satisfied, I want to get it back to Max so I can rig and animate it. Now I’m trying to make a displacement map and normal map so that when the low res model is in Max I can apply the two maps to restore all the detail.
I tried using this tutorial for making the displacement map:

But it didn’t work.
I tried quite a few more things without it working. When in Max, after using ZBrush Central’s “displacement map” thread, the model does not deform correctly, it does not deform at all so that it looks like how it did in ZBrush. I tried using Multi Displacement Exporter 3, and made a displacement map with this quick code (someone else said that they used that code for Max): DE-LAGK-EAEAEA-D32. However, it still doesn’t work. I’m assuming that the problem is the creation of the map Sorry for such a long post, but I really need some help. I have not found any good tutorials for creating displacements maps for Max with Multi Displacement Exporter.
If anyone can help me, or knows of a good tutorial for creating displacement maps for Max, I would really appreciate it.
