Displacement map mirrored Subtool problem

to anyone who can help. this is my first project using displacement maps. and the issues is that, when i generate the map for the hands. which are a mirrored sub tool. geometry around the the mid forearm, distorts, and when exported the map does not apear on the object. i have tried separating the objects only to have the same issue. the head Body legs and even the feet (which are also mirrored objects) have work with out much issue. so i am boggled. Can anyone please help!!??

Okay i have another issue with this model. This project is for school. They don’t teach Zbrush. Just Maya. and at this point i am the only one here who can use it… anyways the issue i have run into, is that when i take my model from home too school. the displacement maps are inflated and distorted. but render fine on my home PC. can this be fixed with out the use of Zbrush.
