displacement map messed up... :(

Hello,

I have trouble getting a “clean” displacement map from zbrush… :frowning:

please see the attached image…

there are basically two problems:

  1. zbrush creates details in the map that where actually not painted… it looks like a projection of the original mesh into the displacement map…

  2. zbrush creates dark outlines around the painted details (I used the standard brush)… so when rendering outside zbrush I get a cavity around each painted detail…

please help… :-/

Are you restoring a morph target or using a cage before creating the displacement map? If not, then that might solve your issue.
