Displacement Intensity and 32bit maps

Hi Zbrushers,

Could anybody please explain me what exactly the INTENSITY slider does to 32Bit maps in the MULTI MAP EXPORTER?
I can see a notable difference between 32Bit Displacement maps generated with the settings Intensity0 and Intensity8: the latter one seem more contrasted and featuring more low frequency information.

I always thought that the INTENSITY slider was only used in the calculation of 16Bit maps - so how come it’s affecting 32Bit maps. And what exactly is it doing to them?

Intensity isn’t used at all in the calculation of either 32bit or 16bit maps.

The slider gives the intensity or alpha depth factor that should be used when applying 16 bit maps in your render application. This value is set when the ‘Get Scale’ button is used. User input values will be added to the file names when the ‘16 Bit Scale’ option is used but the value has no effect on displacement map creation.
