I am still having problems with normals and displacement maps from zBrush in Cinema4d. Is there a good tutorial on that topic? I would really need that, because at the moment the results i get out of ZBrush. The diplacemnents in C4D Rendering do not really represent the deformations i have in ZBrush. The problems seem to be the 0 level oringin, from which the deformations build up or digg into.
I could really need some help on this.
Best regards
Heiner
Hi Reiner,
you can take a look at http://www.cineversity.com/
Patrick Goski has done some good videotutorials under “Pipeline Integration” with zBrush 3.1. and they are free! But I think you have to register to view them!

Hi Heiner,
I did a free tutorial at cmiVFX that you can check.
I go through many workflow challenges there.
Hope you enjoy and solve your issues.
Just create a free account and look for free tutorial section.

You’re going to have problems applying subpolygon displacement to geometry derived from nurbs because SPD requires all-quad geometry with regular polygon size for best results. You can improve the result by selecting quads and regular grid in your extrude caps’ properties before converting.
What you might try instead is applying the displacement to a plane, knocking out the non-map geometry with an alpha.
