Hi,
I have created a sculpt in Zbrush 3.5 and then created a 32 bit displacement map and tried to render in 3ds Max 2010 using mental ray…the whole body appears to displace properly accept for the ears. I have included an image to show what is happening. I have tried exporting using with adaptive clicked, without and set to DPsubpix 4, the map doesn’t appear any different in the ear than the rest of the map but this issue only happens in the ear. I have tried the different filter type and even none…and they all have this similar issue…I have tried fiddling with the settings for edge length and max displace, with no luck it changes the render slightly but nothing gets rid of the strange stepping…I have also tried to add a blur to the map…but that didn’t fix it either…any ideas?
