displace and normal map in max?

Hey all, I’m having a problem with my displacement render in max. As you can see my geometry is weird but the displacements are accurate. Tried a lot of things but can’t figure it out. I’m not usuing vray just the displacement options in the edit poly mode, does this really matter? Also does anybody know how to use the polybump previewer from the practical guide for normal mapping? I’m following the instructions in the guide but when I load my obj in the previewer this is what I see, and the errors are also given to me which I posted in my image as well.

Unfortunately I don’t have v-ray. :mad: Any other solutions?
