I’m not sure what is causing this behavior, but Zbrush has been automatically changing my view to focus closer or further away than I expect. Usually this happens after orbiting the camera, I will pause to look at the model, and the camera jumps to a new distance from the model. It’s kind of annoying, does anyone know how to stop this behavior?
Check if the Local Transformation mode is enable (in the Transform palette or in the right vertical bar of the UI, between the Document and the Tool palette on a default install).
Yes, local transformation is enabled (by default) and it’s the way I work anyway. I don’t know that that would cause any issues though. The real problem is that it doesn’t occur consistently, something I’m doing is causing it to happen every now and again.
