different normal question

Hi there
here is my question
i have a high poly detailed model and a low poly model from it that made from high poly model by Decimation master plugin in zbrush
now how can i bake a normal map from high poly object on the low poly object in zbrush actually normal map from one object on another :qu:
i know render to texture can do that but there is some problem like u cant import the highest level of ur detailed object in max or render to texture is a little trashy
if there is no way in zbrush plz tell me another way if u know i will appreciate it very much
uvs can be same or different
thanks

in Zbrush…no…well yes and no.

Zbrush can calculate the difference between subD levels from one mesh to another…but it can’t calculate the difference from one subtool to another.

you can project the new LP onto the HP by subdividing the mesh up and doing a projection, then generate your normals from the lower subD mesh.

you can also do baking inside of xNormal to generate your maps…you never need to actually see any geometry so it can handle extremely high polygon counts for baking. It all depends on your RAM. I have 24gig and have brought in over 50million into xNormal for baking.

hope that helps

thank u very much that absolutely helped
