I am watching a tutorial and when he extracts, he sets the thickness at 1. When I do the same I get a super thick extraction. If I were to want the same thickness as him I would have to set it at around .03. I was wondering what the reason for this is and what I could do to fix it.

Possibly because the model sizes are different. The setting won’t produce the same result with different models. Or maybe because you are using a different version of ZBrush to the tutorial.
