This is a further independent study where I try and balance realism, my own personal style, and the influence of Japanese anime and manga in my 3D characters. This character was sculpted in Zbrush and rendered in Arnold.
In this project I took a character with a very unique personality from the anime DieBuster, (Gunbuster 2 for you rubes), and set out to interpret the character in my own style, while trying to capture that unique characteristic essence visually. The goal was NOT to redesign the original Yoshiyuki Sadamoto character but to simply explore the balance of my style and the original artist’s intent.
This is Nono from Diebuster.
