Detailing circular components?

Hi guys

I made a model of a tyre in Hex 3D and have imported it into ZBrush, I want to sculpt the tyre tread into the surface, but I,ve hit a snag.

Basically I am lining up the tyre so its vertical in the screen, turning on radial symmetry, start to sculpt using zsub with a brush size of 8, and everything looks good on the front of the tyre, but when I turn it round, instead of subtracting geometry, its adding it instead, any idea how I can get it to zsub all the way around the model?

Its ok, solved it, as well as rdial symmetry you have to set mirror to on aswell.
