Finally got around to modeling a scorpion! A couple years ago I attended a bug shot photography workshop in the Anza Borrego desert in California. It was a ton of fun and I met a couple of these little stingy dudes while I was there (one crawled out of the drain in my hotel room shower). So I decided it was time to model a scorpion and I chose this species in honor of that trip. Modeled and polypainted in ZBrush, textured in Substance Painter, rigged and posed in Maya. Fur is Yeti, rendered with Redshift. Final composite done in Photoshop. Cactus models were from Quixel megascans. I’ll do more renders when I get a chance.
