Demon Head WIP - C&C

I’ve been working on this for a day or two now, thought I’d share and get some critiques and comments from you guys - I can always get better, after all. =) Let me know what you think, and what I can do to improve.

Also, just so there’s no confusion, the teeth and back/sides of neck are not completely finished yet - I’m still working on the form of them. Any suggestions about them are still welcome, just wanted to point that out.

More progress - began detailing the neck. The teeth, except for some detail work to smooth them out and add texture, are now set up properly.

do you have a sketch or some kind of reference youre working off of. sometimes its better so that you know where youre going. i think this character seems a little buisy. and some things, like the neck, i dont see how they fit together with the rest of the design. maybe try getting some pictures of some animals with alot going on so you can see what nature does. get an idea of how to flow different things together. and youll have a basis to work off of.

Could you elaborate on the parts you think are busy? Specifically which designs seem out of place? I looked at it, and I can agree, but I’m not entirely sure how to go about fixing it right now. I referenced a few different lizards and muscular charts, but I don’t have an actual sketch of the character design - it’s mostly a practice in detailing and composition. If you could, just give me a more detailed break down - I do want to make it better. Thanks for the critique and comments =)

To me it seems you sketched this mostly from a front view, the demon head seems to be kinda “flat” like the nose for instance there is almost none planar changes. Id recommend rotating the model more while modeling it seems to me you kinda forgot about the demon profile.

As for detailing id recommend leaving that after you nailed the bigger masses of the face, if you start detailling oo much right of the bat you can lose focus from the bigger forms. Keep it going hope my comments can be of any help
