Hi,
How would I go about deleting parts…? Lets say I have a subtool of 2 parts cause I forgot to unmask the previous subtool, now I want to delete that part of the subtool, how do I do it?
Thanks

Hide the part that you want to eliminate. Then press Tool>Geometry>Delete Hidden.
How do I hide it?
Hold Shift+Ctrl and drag a box over the desired section maybe? I’m new to this so not sure if that’s right for your situation?
Mind if I put a question in your thread? Cool I always wanted to know how to delete hidden parts of a mesh and this seems to work… but here’s the dumd ass bit… I tried this on the average man / sphere but it leaves the mesh hollow, I thought it would seal it up with new polys? How do you seal the hole? No other way to describe it. :o
but where is delete hidden in tool>geometry???
I use Zbrush 2 and in tool>geometry i find DIVIDE, SMT & OPTIMIZE
Is it due to my dumbness ???
i really need help
Teenz
Actually I’d like to know that too
Sorry Tina, I barely know how to use zBrush 3 :o
It’s there in version 3.1, sorry I can’t be of more help.
Lynwin: you can hide the undesired part either by selecting polys(ctrl+shift+drag over the model) or by masking. Mask (hold ctrl and “paint” the mask) then Tool>Masking>HidePt. After that you can delete in Tool>Geometry>DelHidden.
Tina Albert: you have a primitive, you need to work with a polymesh in order to have all the stuff in the Geometry menu. While that primitive is in edit mode go to Tool>Make Polymesh3D.
Is there a way to delete a part of a mesh and have zbrush fill in the hole?
I second that!
No.
Darn… so what do I do if I have a hole…? or just a head with no body?
How do I add to that?
Thank you.
There still seems to be some problem with me doing it.
I draw out a spere3d on the canvas, hit the ‘t’ and then go to TOOL>MAKE POLYMESH 3D and then TOOL>GEOMETRY and then lo!
i still find the same thing that i have mentioned before, i tried this again with a tool i created, so whats really going wrong ???
tina, are you sure you’re picking the polymesh after its made?
lynwin, retopology. also check out rastamans tuts about joining meshes.

Yes you were right, i was making it a polymesh but wasn’t picking it up!!
Thanks yaar!!!
Now expect more dump Qs from me:lol:
So what you’re saying is that I have to use Topology in order to create new polygons in the hole and then join the created mesh with the existing one?
