"Delete UVs" Button has No Effect on an imported OBJ

I´m trying to delete the UV’s from an imported OBJ I´m using as a subtool.

I start by clicking on Delete UV… the button stays enabled/highlighted, as if there were still a UV… Like it couldn´t delete it for some reason…

I then click on Puv Tiles, it stays processing for around 20 seconds and finishes as if it had worked, but then, when I make the texture from my polypaint it scrambles up all the painting on my mesh and in the texture thumbnail it shows me the standard UV map the OBJ came with… As if it never deleted the original UVs…

Any help greatly appreciated.

Would love to help, but i can’t reproduce that behavior. Maybe if you send me the model at subdiv 1 to keep it small?
