Hi, I have a problem which probably has a simple solution, that simple infact no one else has asked that I can find.
Here goes…
I have created a head model subdivided to level 6 ,
I now need to change the chracter from having human ears to bat like ears.
I lower the subdiv to level one and smooth the mesh,no probs, then I base scuplt at level one some rough detail,so far so good.
then I step up to level two , and the the old human ear detail comes back on top of the new ear shape geometry, at level two no problem again as the mesh is easy to smooth and sculpt.
However this is very time consuming on the higher levels and messes up the mesh.
So…is there a way to remove the subdivision history from part of a mesh ,as if the ear never existed.??
sorry did’nt realise I had put iit in the wrong section :o :o :o
What I would do is go to level 1 and remove the ears like you’re doing. Then go to level 2 and do any additional fixing. Continue to step up through the levels.
Then go to level 1 again and sculpt the new ears.
The problem may be that you’re trying to do everything at once.
Thanks that works better, just thought it might have been one of the many “featues” of this wondefull program I don’t understand
