I have a UV map that doesn’t match the model anymore and I wish to replace it with a new one, or delete it. I do not see how to do it. The old UV map is always displayed in the UV Texture Editor. I am using Maya6.
All that you need to do is remap your mesh and then import it back into subdivision level 1 of your model. Or you can go to subdivision level 1 and assign new mapping using ZBrush.
aurick every time I’ve tried this it detroys/messes up badly the detail I’ve added on the higher levels… is there trick to preserving the deformation detail and just getting the new uv’s?

all you have to do is store a morph target for the high res geometry first
