Deformations-Repeat Active and masks not working?

Has anyone had an issue with using deformations “repeat active” with a mask applied? Say you mask something, apply an inflate in deformations, then click repeat active, it seems the repeat doesn’t respect the masking. Any solutions?

I found a workaround! appending a sub-tool, then masking the original object allows the “mask” functionality after applying the first deformation. Each repeat active then respects the mask.

Also thanks to Joe Drust, he came up with the same solution, and a better explanation of why it worked that way :smiley:

Yes, you need to be able to turn on the ‘Mask’ option at the bottom of the Deformation sub-palette, and this only becomes enabled when there is more than one subtool.
