deformation on objects moved off from origin?

howdy,

so i’m working with zb on sets and there are many time where i’m working with a part in it proper place and i want to use a deform effect on it… but since it is moved off from the origin, the deformer will not work as i intend.

i can hit “unify” and that will bring the part to origin but then i will have to reposition and rescale the part into place again. is there a way either to snap the object back remembering its scale and position or to center the deform effects centered around my part?

thanks.

Transform: S.Pivot might just do the trick. The pivot can then be cleared in the same menu, which should send the object back to it’s original pivot

SWEET! that’s perfect, thanks!

initially, it did not seem like it was working - it would center on the x,z plane but not on y… but hovering the cursor over the SPiv and holding CTRL, there seems to be a specification for partially visible geometry… so i hid some parts of the subtool and hit Spiv and it worked! and Cpiv sets the object exactly back.

thanks much!
