Decimation Master - Instructions incorrect?

Hi

I’ve used Decimation Master before, and got it to work fine, though I’m having issues with the download and instructions.

The Instructions in the .pdf file say:-

“1. Quit ZBrush
2. Extract the zip file to a temporary folder.
3. Copy the DecimationMaster.zsc to your ZPlugs folder. With a default installation,
it will be found at C:\Program Files\Pixologic\ZBrush 4.0\ZStartup\ZPlugs or in /Applications/
ZBrush 4.0 OSX/ZStartup/ZPlugs.
4. Also copy the DecimationMasterData folder and its contents to the ZPlugs folder.
5. Launch ZBrush.
6. Open the Zplugin palette. There you will find a Decimation menu, containing the
new plugin’s features.”

However, in the zip file that I downloaded from the download center, does not contain a DecimationMasterData folder.

It contains:

DM_4.0.zsc
DMApp.exe
DMApp64.exe
DMDLL.dll

And that is all. I have tried placing all but the .zsc file into a folder that I created called DecimationMasterData, but to no avail.

Am I missing something? Is there supposed to be a folder in the zip file? Or has something changed, without the instructions changing.

Adam

Are you after PC or Mac version?

PC version, Windows 7 64bit.

You must have unzipped incorrectly. There is a folder called DecimationMasterData_4.0 and DMApp.exe and DMApp64 and DMDLL should be the contents of that folder. Then a seperate file DM_4.0.zsc.

Ah, I think I know what it is. This version of WinZip I am using, groups all of the contents into one block, as though they are all in the same folder. Turns out that if I scroll right far enough, it shows their actual location.

Cheers for your help

Adam

Yes. Make sure “Use folder names” is checked in WinZip.
