Decimation Master 64 problems

Hi, Why decimation master 64 says, when a tool has been precalculated, that for decimate, we need to precalculate it, when it has been precalculated yet?.

Why in the Decimation Master folder appears files of “GoZ” extension?.

Are you sure Decimation Master 64 works correctly?.

The DecimationMaster 64 bit works well here on my computer. I’ve just tried with the DemoDog and it doesn’t asks me to pre-process if it’s already preprocessed…

Goz files are here for internal reasons, they will be deleted at each ZBrush re-start.

Can you try with Decimation Master 32 bit ? (disable “64 bits Decimator” in Preferences > Decimation Master )

Yes Max33, I’ve been doing some test, like you say, the dog goes well. But the sculpt we needed decimate simply doesn’t works… finally I use decimation of Z3.5 directly, without test 32 bits version of Z4, because I know there was gonna work and finally the job is finished.

I need do some more test with this sculpt to discover what was happening…

I had similar issues with complex models (high density, holes etc.). If nothing will help, you can try export subtool you wish to decimate to obj, and import it to zb again. After that decimation works for me. Also repeated pre-computing/decimation (few times) sometimes helps.

Hi,

In order to fix this bug, would it be possible for you to send me the mesh.

If not, can you do a test with this mesh but with “64 bits Decimator” disabled (in Menu > Preferences > Decimation Master), so I can know if the problem comes from 64 bit problem or other?

This would help a lot improving DM.

Thanks in advance.

In previous versions, if the pre-process was done, you didn’t have to run the pre-process again after saving the decimated version if you wanted to generate another resolution variation from the same model (sub-tool)… Now the pre-process is ignored on every save. As if the cache file that was saved is lost or the connection is broken…
I’m using 2024.0.4
