DeathMetalDan's Thread

Hey guys, I’m mainly a 2D illustrator, you can check out my stuff on my blog at deathmetaldan.blogspot.com. I’ve recently gathered an interest in 3D sculpting for illustration purpose and even animation, and I love coming on Zbrushcentral to look at all the amazing art that you guys are producing.

This is my second attempt at creating something in Zbrush and my first full body model. I don’t think it turned out too bad considering… Everything done entirely in Zbrush with no outside programs. I do plan on using Polypaint and eventually texturing it to just give it that higher level of refinement, but I have to learn how to do that first!

Anyways here he is, Ash Ketchum: 10 years after the show, when he joins the Elite Pokemon SWAT Team.

Thanks for looking, and tell me what you think!

I like what you did with it. I am also new to this and I am currently working on a Ghost Rider. Anyway great work.

Thanks for the response! I checked out your Ghostrider, the skull is looking awesome but, I’d ease up on the texturing a little and I’m liking where you’re going with the flames. Typically I’d say you wouldn’t sculpt those for like an Illustration or something, but if it’s for an action figure or something that’s great!

Yeah I appreciate the feedback. I am going to try and go in the direction of the new Ghost Rider and make him look a little burnt. I do a lot of drawing and could draw it much easier that sculpt it but I figured I would try it out cause I had the idea after watching a video on transparency. We will see where it goes! By the way if you want to check out any of my speed painting you can watch them @ www.youtube.com/user/ethanashton

awesome work!

Thanks for the kind words! if anyone has critique to make the piece better that’d be great

You should pose him, I think the face could use some more work, and his arms seem a little long. But other than that most of the accessories look good, but could still use a little more loving.
