Daz to Zbrush - Applying Exported Maps

This is my goal however, I’m not sure it’s possible.

I export a DAZ 4.8 model with exported maps. It imports into Zbrush 4R7 correctly. To apply the maps I select the polygroup I want to texture hide it and split hidden. This gives me a new subtool ,arms and nails, as an example. I import the map and flip it vertically. Then I apply the texture to the new subtool under the Texture Map menu. Perfect result. I repeat the process to all remaining polygroups.

At this point I have multiple subtools that are textured properly. Now, here is the challenge: I want to merge all the subtools into one subtool to have one complete merged body, and have the proper textures applied over all polygroups. However, only one polygroup is textured correctly as it’s using the current texture in the Texture Map menu.

I would like to then sub divide the merged subtool to a higher level with all textures applied correctly.

Is there a way to accomplish this and have all the textures on the merged subtool mapped correctly on all polygroups.

I hope this makes sense.

You didn’t need to split the model into subtools, you could have applied the different textures to individual polygroups.

I knew I had a video showing how to do this.

Nice videos, dillster… :+1:

Instead of using the plugin to export, you can also:

After clicking “create new from polypaint” in the texture palette
Click Clone texture.
Now you can just export directly from the Texture menu (after flipping V if you want).

Good point Thor.
