I really like how your picture is turning out. My only question is: I only watched the Pirates of the Car. movie once, but according to my memory, isn’t he supposed to be on the blue side rather than browns?

Do you want to rig it or only use it for an illustration? It looks too symmetric if you will use it for an illustration. With ZB you have a lot of tools to make the image more interesting (color).The modeling part is realy ok! :+1:

yea i agree about the symmetry , i havent decided on a facial expression yet :wink: And i’d like to keep it symmetrical as long as possible incase i have to change anything still on the modeling.
But yea , symmetry makes it appear lifeless.

his lips purse more, you should model him relaxed this way you can work in all your necessary detail then pose him.

I think i’m gonna have to give up on this character. For some reason i keep getting popup errors about Unable to read Virtual Memory file when even loading this tool. I managed to snapshot it and save a document, so now i can atleast work on a snapshotted version when restarting Zbrush.
I think i should have gone into HD geometry divisions from 7th subdivision on , instead i went to the 9th subdivision on this guy, I guess it’s gotten a bit too heavy.

It looks great, even better considering the fact you’r trying to mimic an oscar-winning digital character so your model is constantly compared to it.

nice work, some sub surface scatter on those tenticles would really bring it to life!

His Polycount got too heavy so i restarted him with a retopology over the multi-poly one. I got a much better distribution of polys now.

Also started polypainting and will add extra tentacles with mesh insert brush.

I love the new track brushes and the slash brush. Its great for carving in wrinkles , a lot more precise then the wrinkle alpha that made multiple wrinkles.
