Bas : sure I used photoshop maybe for the 50% of this work !!
every models are made in ZBrush by zspheres;
the background is a texture on a plane, made in ZBrush with some alphas;
the water is property of ZBrush, it is another plane modelled with deformation palette and my mouse;
the boat is modelled in ZBrush too like the drops;
matherials and alphas are property of jotajota (I made some changes);
I rendered everything in different layers and in different times; I exported into Adobe Photoshop CS one layer at a time…there I painted the hairs, I made the water effects and motion effects, and finally I made some color corrections as the luminosity, the contrast.

An impressive piece of work ,Drummer …but there are to many “blurred” shapes in the rendering…that takes away the strenght of your image…that very first image of Caronte - the monochrome image- had a lot, and i mean a great lot of intensity and power …its very difficult to keep that in an image with so many shapes as this .

This is such an original project.
You have excellent idea, excellent drama, beautiful strong posing of body and modelling, and the face is logical in anatomy and very strong in expression. I see this work already finished and I must say this will end up being top quality. I hope you will add some details into the hand and feets, but this is just a matter of how much time do you have left for this project.
