As for the eyebrows, they were hand painted in Zbrush using brush 46+lazy mouse. Later, the poly paint was used to generate the color map in BMP and then converted to .map to be rendered in Maya with Mental Ray.

I got some messages about eyes shaders. I don’t have the time to answer every email or mp because there’s no way I can describe the setup with only a few words. A tutorial would be necessary every time. So, more down the road I’ll describe the eyes setup with some text and images (Maya). Not promising soon though. I’m using all my free time to produce work. I hope you understand :slight_smile:

I updated the images on the first page. Still working on the likeness but he looks better than yesterday already…I hope…

Looks fantastic, but the mustache looks like it’s sort of daubed on as an afterthought - probably just the black colouring. It’s the only thing that stood out, the rest is pretty much flawless.

I came back again to post in this thread just to ask you a couple of questions, which i hope you have some time to answer;)

-I know that you apply Fast Skin shader to the eyes, but the question is, do you apply the SSS to the eye ball or to the cornea (in case the cornea is opaque and transparent just in the iris area)

-whenever you use HDRI/IBL and FG, do you turn ON “include indirect lighting” on the light map attribute?..if so, do you change any attribute there?

What a very carefully and beautifully crafted piece of work. Your old WIP thread has been my “how does he do that” refrence head for years now. Glad to finally find out who it is! Love the touch with the slightly offset mouth.
