I am excited to share my latest project, a reinterpretation of the drawing of one of the supporting characters (Dale) by the talented artist Olivier Senny (@olsen.creation) for the film The Son of Bigfoot property of Studiocanal, nWave Pictures. This project focuses on the sculpting, modeling and texturing of a character that stands out for its stylized design and striking visual expression, capturing attention from the first moment.
The main purpose was to take the essence and details of the concept art, paying special attention to the quality of the materials and optimizing the geometry for use in animation.
I used a combination of advanced tools and techniques such as: Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter and Arnold to render the piece.
The project was the result of applying techniques acquired during the course at VFX NEXT, and was greatly enriched by the expert guidance of my tutor Vladimir Minguillo, to whom I want to express my deepest gratitude. I would also like to thank the rigging artist, Hillary Obinwa, who efficiently created a rig for the model, allowing the talented animator Moses Omobolaji to masterfully pose it. My gratitude to both of them for their contribution to the success of this project.
